We thank Cibulka and Harrell for their response1 to our article.2 As Mark Twain wrote in his autobiography, "Figures often beguile me, particularly when I have the arranging of them myself; in which case the remark attributed to Disraeli would often apply with justice and force: ‘There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics.’"3 Cibulka and Harrell have raised some valid points that we would like to address in this response. They state that the "results of this study will likely never be validated."
